PADANG
- The 7th Minang Marching Competition (MMC) at the Sumatra level was
successfully held on December 14-16, 2018. The MMC was held by Persatuan Drum
Band Indonesia (PDBI). This year's theme is #PalapehAuihSampaiAbih. It was held
in 2 places, namely on the Padang coast and in the Auditorium of Andalas
University.

The opening ceremony of MMC 7 was held on the coast of Padang by also inviting the governor and deputy governor of West Sumatra, West Sumatra Kadispora, general chairman and daily head of PDBI in West Sumatra. The opening ceremony was enlivened by a special dance from Minang, a dance plate from the Alang Babega studio.

The activities carried out
by the 7th MMC this time were full band (display), color guard contest, street
parade, individual color guard and percussion contest which was held at the
Andalas University auditorium in Padang.
The 7th MMC this year, competing two categories, namely drum battle and full band which was divided into three divisions, namely the Junior Division for the equivalent elementary school class, the Senior Division for the junior and senior high school level, and finally the Brass Division.
Followed by 36 Participant
units from various regions in West Sumatra, and outside of western Sumatra such
as Jambi, Riau and Aceh. The MMC is held by PDBI West
Sumatra as one of the coaching programs and achievements of the organization.
The culmination of this
event was carried out lively and concluded with the closing ceremony at the
University of Andalas auditorium by announcing the winner of the Full Band was
the Nada Kartika Marcing Band from SMP Kartika I-6 which
in this event became the overall winner and the trophy of the Governor of West
Sumatra. Then the First Division Junior Champion in the Full Band Category was
won by the
drum group from Al Azhar Bukittingi Elementary School. Finally, for the Brass Division, the Titian High School won the Terrace.
